The
success behind Dynamic Producer, the first organization to
aggressively emerge in the entertainment industry with a
specialized concentration to music producers, especially those
influenced by the Hip-Hop and R&B culture is due to the hard
work and dedication of one woman, its founder and CEO, Ms. Felisha
Booker. As a smart business woman and entrepreneur this Cleveland
native has branded herself as a non-stop hustler whose motto is
“exhaust all possibilities.”
Felisha’s fast pace to success started and
interest in the music industry was born during her time as an
A&R representative at UNEM Entertainment Group - an
independent record label based in her native Cleveland, Ohio.
Late nights in the studio working side-by-side
semi-seasoned producers birthed a desire to create an outlet for
aspiring producers with little or no chance of being discovered.
Leaving odd jobs and monotony behind, Felisha moved to New York
City to chase after what some would dub an impossible dream from a
Midwestern belle with little experience.
Most people not native to New York who come
in pursuit of their hopes and dreams get deferred back to reality.
The reality being is this: “standing out and making a name for
yourself in the biggest city in the world, New York City, is never
easy.” In the fast paced environment of New York it is more than
likely that you will join the race and keep up or take the pace
and get left behind. Felisha has done neither one. She has stayed
ahead of the race and is setting her own pace that others
have a hard time to keeping up with.
“There are too many opportunities out here
to not be successful, people are too lazy to utilize them,”
explains Booker on why she is seen as two steps above everyone
else. “I have never done anything different in terms of my work
ethic and dedication, I just really try.”
Her organization hosts an Annual
Conference, Seminars,
Workshops,
and Showcases
to support music producers worldwide. She
continues to use innovative strategies to build on what is
becoming a historic breakthrough for those hoping to break in to
careers within the technical realm of the music industry.
She is on the heels of launching FBI Media (Felisha Booker,
Ingenious), a publishing company that will serve as another
vehicle in the evolution of the business of music production.
She
is truly passionate about helping others and educating aspiring
producers. “People always ask me, ‘So Felisha what do you
do?’ I usually tell
them I am in the education business, because I think that is most
of what my job is, to educate those who need to know about this
music industry. There are a lot of pitfalls when starting out and
you need to know what they are to stay in the race.”
